Much

Much is used to express that there is a large amount of something. It goes with uncountable nouns only. It can be used in negative and interrogative sentences. See some examples: 

We haven't got much time.
Did you pay much for this coat?

Many can also be used for affirmative sentences when it is preceded by too and so. See some examples:

There is too much salt

I love you so much


Many


Many is used to express that there is a large amount of something. It goes with countables nouns only. It can be used in negative and interrogative sentences. See some examples: 

Do you have many hobbies?

There aren't many tomatoes left.

Many can also be used for affirmative sentences when it is preceded by too and so. See some examples:

There are too many cars.

I didn't know you had acted in so many films.
